AFC Divisions
The AFC was created when the AFL and NFL merged in 1970. It originally consisted of ten football franchises, and added
three NFL teams to form two leagues with thirteen teams each. Since the AFL and NFL merged, five additional teams have
joined and two have left which is where we are currently at - sixteen teams.
