New York Mets

New York fans got the chance to vote for their favorite nickname out of ten finalists which were Avengers, Bees, Burros, Continentals, Jets, NYBS, Rebels, Skyliners, Skyscrapers, and the winner - Mets.

There is some history behind the Mets nickname as there was an American Association baseball club that played in New York during the 1880s called the Metropolitans, often shortened to the Mets.
