Los Angeles Rams

The Rams franchise began in Cleveland back in 1936, and were known as the Cleveland Rams. They played in Cleveland until 1946 when they relocated to Los Angeles to become America's first Pacific Coast professional football team. They played all of their home games in LA until 1995 when they moved to St. Louis. A decade of games in the Gateway to the West which included the franchise's first Super Bowl championship in 1999 was all the time they would spend there before returning to the City of Angels for the 2016 campaign.

The founder of the Rams, Homer Marshman, and GM Damon "Buzz" Wetzel chose the Rams nickname after Wetzel's favorite football team at the time was the Fordham Rams college football squad. Another interesting trivial note is that the Los Angeles Rams were the first team to use logos on their helmets.
