Little known fact about the Oakland Raiders is that if their original owner, Chet Soda, had his way, they would still be known as the
Oakland Señors. Soda had held a "name-the-team" contest, but people were critical that Señors was actually the people's choice due
to two facts - Soda had a habit of calling everyone he met 'señor', and the winning name was Señors. Really enough said.
Due to the fact that virtually everyone hated the name Oakland Señors, Soda changed the name several weeks later to what he claimed was the
second choice of the people - Raiders. There's not many things I'm thankful for with regard to the Oakland Raiders but one thing I am thankful for is
that they are not called the Oakland Señors. In 1982 the team relocated to LA to become the Los Angeles Raiders, but headed back up the coast to Oakland
in 1995.
