Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee needed a name for their new basketball team in 1971, and so the good people of Wisconsin got to put in their two cents via a name-the-team contest. Over 10,000 entries, many of them beer-related I'm sure, were submitted.

Ultimately they chose the name Bucks to pay homage to the Wisconsin's rich hunting tradition.
