Milwaukee Brewers

Teams had been using the Brewers nickname off and on since the late 1800s. This is a nod to the numerous breweries that had called Milwaukee home which included the likes of Pabst, Miller, and Schlitz.

That being said, the Milwaukee Brewers didn't start out in Wisconsin. Their first season was spent as the Seattle Pilots in their inaugural year of 1969. Apparently the year went horribly wrong, because after that one single year, they packed up and moved to Milwaukee and in the process morphed into the Brewers.
